| | Songs to wear pants to - Experimental film (in my head) | ] | Yugh. I'm a little bit pissy now from Precal. Mrs. Keegan was being stubborn with us and yelling and some crap because she wanted to switch teaching methods for a day and none of us liked it. Instead of giving us 50 minutes of notes and examples, she gave us a problem from the book and tried to get us to figure it out ourselves.
It seems fine on paper, non? She said something during her rant about wanting us to think for a change. She also said that this was the type of problem I should love and get quickly, and you know, she's exactly right. I don't know why I didn't, but I didn't. Whatever.
Advisory today was bloody awesome though. We had a group discussion and put topic ideas on paper in a hat and Yarchi pulled out each topic and we discussed it (more or less). Lots of people put really stupid and also really funny stuff, leading to topics on... Cubans, Captain Planet, where babies come from, and more. The last topic pulled out was the best though (and unfortunately it got cut off. DAMN LUNCH! *shakes fist*): Intelligent Design. If I wasn't known as a ranting atheist previously, I should be now. ^_^ It was absolutely fun. I got real into it and talked way more than I thought I was able to. Good times.
Today is the start of a weekend. Omigodyes. Unfortunately, today is the start of a weekend I have dedicated to catching up on all of my work. ( Interims came today. ) Most of the not-so-good grades there are due to my not turning crap in. So this weekend I've got to do some essays for AP US, and some homework for Chem. The Precalc grade is just because I suck, I guess? I thought I was understanding that crap. Same for English, which is definitely the result of me not completely reading The Crucible. Screw it.
But for sure, I'm going to turn it around. I've just gotten off on the wrong foot. Soon I'll return to my normal, completely boring and always turning work in self. >_>;;
Jooouuurnalism meeting this afternoon. Layout is fun! No, really, that's not sarcasm! I'm probably the only one who enjoys it, but I do.
...I got today's program done the first 5min of class and we're probably not going on to anything else

I would like to retroactively apologize to everyone who read my journal one year ago. I was way too obsessed with Esperanto.
I keep on sneaking 'un' in there. I want my indefinite article back, Esperanto! >_> Gimme.
I'm sorry. It's painful even for me to read, and I like this stuff.
Doing my NHS application, finally, so I actually have an excuse for going through my old journals this time. And this would be the first time, ever, that my old agenda book has been useful to me. Even when it was the current year.
I have gotten five service things, but three of them are less than 5 hours each... -_-;;
Anything worth recording today?
It was Mike's birthday today. Mr. Ammerman sang and taught us Las Mañanitas. What a pretty song! I really like it. He also says that soon we'll start watching videos. He said they were soap operas but I don't think they're Destinos. That would be hilarious if they were.
I have lots of crap to do. So see you later when I have something else simply hilarious to post.
PS: Warren: My math 310 teacher said that the guy that came up with this concept of different sizes of infinity went insane. :P |

Updating at school. Why does she link to LJ then, you may ask? Well, because I am no longer confined by the school filters (or a keyboard without a functioning space bar)! ^_^ Firefox + proxy = love It's really slow, but whatever. I will never be bored in 4th or 7th periods again. Probably.
Yesterday was inexplicably awesome, but I kind of fell asleep in the middle of the afternoon and woke up at 6am o_o so I couldn't write about it. Later when I have more time I will. ...I have a lot of work to do tonight though... Tomorrow is the last day for teachers to put grades in before interims so basically everything's due that day.
Meh. |

Tee.
"The president and I share the belief that marriage is between a man and a woman. I believe that. I believe marriage is between a man and a woman.
But I also believe that because we are the United States of America, we're a country with a great, unbelievable Constitution, with rights that we afford people, that you can't discriminate in the workplace. You can't discriminate in the rights that you afford people.
You can't disallow someone the right to visit their partner in a hospital. You have to allow people to transfer property, which is why I'm for partnership rights and so forth."
And one last thing -- If ANYONE can tell me what a triangle can stand for in math, other than 'change' and an actual triangle, I would love you forever. If you took the PSAT today, it was one of the last questions. It was x-triangle-y = x^y [x+yfjadofjapfja] something. I forget, but I've asked a lot of people and even my math teacher isn't sure and it's driving me CRAZY.

P.S.: I finally got to a bit of Esperanto in the Riverworld Series. Zi, you should at least read the first book - It's nice, and some pretty good SF. Anyway, I had a good deal of fun adding the circumflexes to words. *grin* They can put an umlaut on Hermann Göring's name, but not a couple of circumflexes in a couple sentences of foreign speech? Oh well. Problem solved, in my copy anyway. |
